3 different themes to learn playing and having fun.

6/13 years old Space is divided in three different thematic areas:

  • The living
  • The tech idea
  • Playing with Physics

These ones make you deepen your curiosity about the living world, the relationship with yourself and others and communication techniques by experiencing the charm of science.

Mimicry

Two display cases showing living examples of stick bugs (Bacillus rossious) and leaf insects (Phyllium philippinicum) and interactive exhibits to discover animal mimicry.

Young visitors can observe their behavior, their physical appearance and above all try to track them down and count them. In a real “Naturalist’s Table”, moreover, entomological boxes are kept containing arthropods with different characteristics, which can be observed closely and classified according to their differences.

The living

An Anthill

A recreation of an anthill with all its fundamental parts to watch the behaviour and understand the red ants’ society structure (Formica rufa). The observation can be conducted above and below ground, passing through a tunnel to discover the Queen Ant.

The tech idea

The WeporTV television studio

An actual television studio, headquarter of a webtv, where classes are given to teach the kids the “secrets” about television and the “tricks” of the trade.

Playing with energy: an area dedicated to clean energies and renewable sources

A series of exhbits to immediately understand the basics of the clean energies’ production like solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.

Tinkering Lab: think, make, learn

An area dedicated to experimenting science with creativity, observation and research.

A thematic area dedicated to experimenting science through activities capable of stimulating creativity, investigation and exploration based on each one’s skills and facilitating the learning of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics ).

Thanks to the tools available you can build flying objects, tiny robots or a track for acrobatic marbles.

Playng with physics

Lights and mirrors

Distorting and parabolic mirrors, a giant kaleidoscope, games and experiments dedicated to the properties of light to discover the laws that rule the physical phenomena that are often part of our daily lives.

Optical Illusions

The area hosts a series of two dimensional and three dimensional optical illusions and amusing alterations of perspective, like the Ames room and the Beuchet chair. These games let you experiment in an interactive and engaging way how the perception of reality, the result of the relationship between the eye and the brain, can sometimes be altered.

Soap bubbles

Four exhibits to create giant soap bubbles, play with three-dimensional frames and with the colours  created by the light.

The transatlantic

A reproduction of a transatlantic to play with the on-board equipment, shipping lanes, morse code, knots and a compass to measure the Azimuth.

Here there are what you can find in La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi.

You can browse clicking over the map or picking each space on the menu on the left, discovering all areas for different age groups.

2/3 years old Space

The discovery world is dedicated to kids from 3 to 5 years: In the recreation of a construction site with bricks made out of foam rubber, wheelbarrows, cranes and a conveyor belt, children learn how to relate to other people. In the exhibit “Hands in water” they can discover the five senses ad young scientists through Sensory and sensorial-perceptive experiences.
